Task Force for American Democracy

Former Secretary of DHS Jeh Johnson and former federal appellate court judge Michael Luttig are leading the American Bar Association’s Task Force for American Democracy. They are saying that America’s 1.3 million attorneys not only have the requisite skills, but also a duty to defend the rule of law.

This proactive mass mobilization comes on the heels of The 65 Project, which has taken aim at every attorney involved in 2020’s frivolous litigation that was undertaken to delegitimize Biden’s victory. The other group doing a lot of great work in this area is Democracy Docket, who are interdicting all sorts of attempts at skewing election turnout, vote counting, and other election related matters.

There are many signs that indicate Trump’s plan for 2024 is to ignore trying to win the election and put all efforts into casting doubt on the outcome so that various chicanery will be seen as plausible. Look no further than the RNC, which has largely abandoned the downticket races, or Trump telling Christian Nationalists “You won’t have to vote any more”.

Trump & Co. are counting on apathy, confusion, and cowardice paving the way for a theocracy based on Catholic Integralism.

Harris/Walz have utterly smashed any hope they had for voter apathy.

There will be confusion, but as we see in this article, it’s making people angry and intent, not bored and distracted.

And I think … finally … most people get how serious this situation is, that if they don’t turn out their wallets for these organizations putting in work, and if they don’t turn out to vote, they may never get another chance.

Don’t wake up November 6th thinking about the things you could have/should have/would have done. Do it. And do it RIGHT NOW!
