Usually I notice things going on the world, dig around a bit, and then write an article about them. This is often followed by some thoughts on what it all means and where it’s going next.
The two things I’m going to offer here are not something I can back with a couple of quality references, so I’m just going to lay them out in textual form, and we’ll see if I’m right.
Anduril Drones:
The drones on the east coast became a thing not so long ago, now they’re turning up everywhere. One possible explanation is related to this Elon Musk pronouncement.
The Biden administration can not respond without letting out some secrets on surveillance capability, so this will continue until there’s a GOTCHA! moment.
And this longer piece by Ed Nash offers some historic examples as to why this is a terrible winner take all move on the $1 trillion more we plan to spend on the plane fighter pilots refer to as “Fat Amy”. There are a lot of issues with the F-35, but putting a wealthy crackpot in charge of overall direction is going to be disastrous the first time we have a war of necessity, rather than the wars of choice we’ve been involved in since the end of Vietnam.
Agricultural Slavery:
The planned mass deportations will result in a crash of our construction, food production, and hospitality industries.
Unless the people who are caught can’t be deported … and must instead remain in federal camps … where they can be made to work for $0.65/day.
Trump has promised lower food costs … this is the ONLY way to get to that. It will delight his supporters and intimidate his opponents. Remember who’s driving things in this area … Stephen Miller is the one on the right.
Conclusion:
There’s been a lot of confusion on both of these points over the last few days. See if you can work out what happens when we criminalize the 40% of the country with Hispanic origins. We’ve already got plenty of guns, so I imagine cocaine and fentanyl will be joined by blocks of C4 explosives and Chinese/Russia RPGs.
