Georgians Fend Off Russia
The foreign agents law is the Kremlin camel's nose under the tent.
The Georgians are out in the streets in an effort to block the “foreign agents law” - this is a Kremlin ploy to exclude western influence from the country.
This is really interesting to me due to yesterday’s SoCal Armenian Extremists Attack UCLA Protesters. Briefly these are Armenian nationalists in Southern California who are involved in right wing anti-trans stuff with school boards, associating with Proud Boys, and so forth. Armenia’s name on the map is precisely under the big red YouTube play button.
Muslim NATO member Turkey is on one side, Muslim Azerbijan is on the other, and Christian Armenia is the exception to the rule. This is the one place in the world where the best choice for the residents IS to become another Transnistria, a tentacle of Putin’s Imperial Russia reboot. Without Russian support, the Armenians will end up like the Kurds and the Yezidi, although that might take another generation.
I hope the Georgian people can prevail against Putin. Given the isolation, the history, and the regional tensions, I don’t see a path for Armenia.

It took a full century after the Ottoman slaughter of a million or more Armenians during World War I before the rest of the world was willing to lay blame on the Turkish successor state to the Ottoman Empire.
One large, long term Cold War left us with several small “frozen conflicts”. Now that the chill is over and the heat is returning to Europe the settling of scores will resume.
