Enormous 12.9" iPad Pro

This tablet is amazing.

I have spent the last five years reading and watching movies using a 10” Kindle Fire with 1920x1080 resolution. OK, the bulk of my use has been Mahjong, you guys know me too well.

Today at my PO box I found a 12.9” 2020 iPad Pro awaiting me. This thing feels absolutely unreal after so many years with the Kindle. It’s half the thickness and the resolution is 2732x2048 - 2.7x as many pixels.

The gooseneck stand I have for the Kindle will not hold a tablet this large, so I’m getting a proper arm, which will presumably be less floppy. My bed and desk are side by side so I’ll be able to use it from laying down and seated.

And once I have a case with a kickstand for it, there is a tool called Sidecar that will permit me to use the tablet as a second monitor with Pinky & Brain, which are both 2560x1600.

The combination of laptop and tablet will fit in my rolling overnight bag with room for all the things I’d need for a trip. My last time on a plane was when I moved to California in 2015, but I think my flight drought is about to break. It’s going to be sweet to have a full featured work environment that’s light enough to take with me.
