I have been on the hunt for additional sources that compliment Peter Zeihan and Asianometry is really growing on me. I first noticed this channel because it offers insightful, technologically correct commentary on chip manufacturing issues. I was an Electrical Engineering Times subscriber for much of the late 20th century, so I was well versed in this area and am not finding it difficult to get back up to speed.
This channel also has a lot of good quality stuff on climate, development, and demographics - all those things Zeihan employs as inputs.
And while writing this I just noticed there’s an Asianometry Substack.
Conclusion:
If you’re not well read in chip manufacturing this channel is a simple, trustworthy path to getting up to speed. I’ve only just started branching out from the technology focused videos but the rest of the content is equally engaging - history and science on complex issues made accessible and placed in context for today.
